The more of the doctor I see, the deeper in lust and love I fall. The man's brilliant. I just finished watching the episode where he takes miss Martha Jones to visit Shakespeare, and it was fun. It also amused the frell out of me that I happened to have put on my Oregon Shakespeare Festival tank top today when I got home from work and changed out of my work clothes.
Speaking of the Shakespeare Festival, I would so love to go back and see more. It was awesome when I got the chance to do that, but it was entirely too short, and with entirely too many restrictions because it was a school trip. I also should find somewhere to put up my Shakespearean Magnetic Poetry kit. The bard was a bawdy one, and it's absolutely smashing.
Yes, I know. I've been watching too much Doctor Who. But who can really blame me?

After work today, I wandered a bit before heading home, as I was seeking two things: cute though comfortable shoes for work, sunglasses for my plush bat that I found at Ikea. I had no success with either of those goals, but I did find something awesome. The light up leash from Sharper Image that I wanted a whole lot even when it was full priced and $39.99. They had it down to half price when I popped into their store, and though I told myself at least twice that I really shouldn't, I bought it anyways.
The guy who helped me, he seemed amused at first, when I was speaking of wanting it but I really shouldn't get it. When I admitted that I wanted it for going to shows, he assumed dog show, and became perplexed when I clarified that I'm not a dog person, and I meant music shows. Conversation kind of died after that. I'm unsure if he was just left without an idea of what to say, or if he was just making a point to be polite and finish the sale in short order.
At any rate, I have my illuminated leash, now I just need someone to lead around using it. *grin* - feeling: cheerful

So, as I mentioned previously, I have handcuffs for my cell phone. They arrived via the mail today, and I picked them up from the father's house on my way home from work. Dad literally called me as I was getting onto the freeway to head to work to tell me the package had arrived. Hooray for bluetooth headsets, which allowed me to pick up the phone safely while driving. :)
At any rate, when I opened them, my niece was fascinated by them. I will have to get that girl some toy handcuffs. My mother is threatening bodily harm or death if I do so while she's so young though. She says I need to wait 'til my niece is 12 years old. That's almost a decade from now! Also, I doubt my brother's friends will wait so long, and gorram it, what's wrong with the world if an Auntie can't spoil and corrupt her niece who's already sharp as a tack and innocent looking enough to get away with raising hell? I think I will have to find good toy handcuffs for my niece for Christmas. I'll just have to risk the bodily harm.
I promised teferi I'd post pictures so he could see these little Japanese metal danglie bits that make me so happy. So here are pictures: cuffs & phone and close up on the cuffs. I'm too gorram lazy to resize the pictures so I can post 'em here, sorry.

Being the absolutely awesome person he is, teferi just bought me mini handcuffs to dangle off my cell phone. I had posted about these handcuff cell phone charms like half a year ago or so, and I thought about them tonight, so I went and looked up the LJ entry. Well, the original link had died, but when I hit google, I found an ebay sale of the same sort as the ones I'd originally linked to previously. teferi offered to buy them for me, and sent me the money via paypal so I could "buy" them myself, and avoid shipping address confusions.
I just told ebay I wanted to buy them, and sent the money via paypal, so I should be seeing them soonish. I'm not sure how long it'll take to ship 'em down from Canada, and they're coming to my dad's house (since that's the address on my credit card, and it's just easier to use the confirmed address for these things), but I should see them sooner or later. Hooray.
I will take pictures of my kinky little cell phone when she gets her new handcuffs on. I promise. - feeling: bouncy

So I've taken to wearing ear plugs when I sleep because my new neighbors gave the bedroom above my head to whichever family member finds it okay to blast crappy ghetto rap or TV almost all hours of the day.
Also, I didn't get a full night's sleep last night because of the crappy book that I'd gotten an advanced readers edition of from Wondercon (from the booth I bought the latest Christopher Moore book from), then handed off to my mom because it really didn't appeal to me when I gave it a chance with the first few pages. Well, my mother inhaled the thing and insisted it really did get better after the weak first chapter, so bored the other day I decided to give it another go. Yeah, she was right, it did get better, but I still didn't really like it. Among other reasons, the protagonist just really really sucked, and I couldn't identify with her at all. She was always screwing things up, she didn't really do much of anything to show the power people in the book kept insisting she had. At any rate, despite my great annoyance with it, I ended up reading from when I went to bed (before 2a) 'til the sun was coming up (6a when I noticed it and had put the book down finished).
I should probably put the book into my GoodReads account, and mark it as unliked and post a review. *shrugs* I don't know. It kinda speaks poorly that the part I liked best was the protagonist having the sex with her vampire boyfriend and having false vampire teeth and bites him despite the drama llama being the relationship between her and her roommate, and her roommate and her boyfriend. *shrugs*
