saw sky and remembered, little soul big world, cow, eat sleep and eat

From time to time, people comment on my frequent negativity. It gets a little frustrating when I seem to encounter so many things that hold me back for no good reason I can see, and sometimes I forget to focus on the good things instead. This especially slapped me across the face when at work, Paul mentioned it after I'd commented on the flatbed that we were lugging furniture on. I'd been complaining, as I'd quickly determined which of the tools available to me seemed to work best, once I started regularly participating in the furniture pulls at work. The flatbeds are loud, hard to direct, and one of them has a damaged wheel, which leaves it off balance if one doesn't distribute its load just right. One of the dollies got tweaked, and so its right wheel drags on whatever you load on it. Thus I favor the other two dollies that aren't tweaked, and use the pallet jacks instead of the flatbeds when grabbing more than a piece or two of furniture.

At any rate, I didn't intend to go off on that rant here, but that pretty much shows what provoked Paul's comment. Instead of explaining why I better liked the other options for hauling a collection of furniture for customer purchase, I'd just said "Have I mentioned how much I hate these flatbeds?" So it occurred to me that it might do me, and others, some good to list off things I liked and loved, in an attempt to not only remind myself that there are things that don't make me feel obligated to bitch people's ears off, and to let people know I am really not the 100% crazy ball of negativity that I sometimes come across as.

In no particular order, other than how they come to mind as I type, is a list of things I like and love. I'll use an unordered list, and provide explanation where I find it might be needed. If anything is vague, or you're curious about it, please comment and ask me about it. :)

this hopefully will get long, so I'll cut it )

I may come back and add to this list at a later date, but I figure it's a pretty good start for now.

I'm sitting here eating pop rocks, talking to Graham ([info]archonix), and looking for the least expensive copy of Your Trading Card Maker for use to make cards for the Terra Nova crew :)

I had Jones Soda yesterday and today! :) Colin owed me 'cause I worked for him last Tuesday, so he got me a couple bottles. I had the orange at work, and I just drank the Happy a little bit ago :) I love Jones!

Taxes this year are turning out to be a mess :-/ Apparently I got my W-4 form filled out wrong or something, so they haven't been pulling enough out of my pay checks! :( I'm getting the stuff to correct the error or whatever, and hopefully taxes won't be so bad next year. I get to pay the feds a couple hundred, and we haven't figured what I owe the state yet :-/ Taxes suck, anyone want to help me over throw the government and set it up better this time? Maybe something along the lines of the way Douglas Adams had it in the hitchhiker's guide series? The president being nothing more than a public figure to keep the public's minds off the real issues, and letting someone who doesn't know and doesn't want to be in charge make all the decisions?

Well, whatever, I'll live I guess... I just hate tossing out a couple hundred at once. bah!

...and it sure shows, huh? :-P Well, they didn't have a Jones Soda question on there, so well, um... the quiz sucked! Everyone knows that's the best thing to come from Canada (though there are many other great things from there too...)

(BTW, this quiz was found posting in Mikey's Journal ([info]ryoken3d), who was only 83% Canadan :-P)

I AM CANADIAN

I am 39% CANADIAN!!!

MyOwnEmail is so totally pissing me off at the moment. I really should stop using them for my email, but I like that I can get kick ass domains for email addresses without having to pay for it. Mail.com lets you choose a domain other than mail.com for your email addy, but only if you pay them money! If I'm that worried about getting a cool domain for my email, I'll pay for the domain myself, thank you! They just recently started offering this "platinum account" crap... no banners, and all that shit pfff... I can handle banners on my email, just the way web based email is, I'm fine with that I don't even pay attention to the damn things anyhow. But what's got me pissed is I just made a new account, and found out that new members don't get to save their signatures! How fucked up is that?! I use the email address for a role playing mailing list, and I need my signature... I wouldn't care if I was restricted to one signature, I just need my fucking signature. *sigh* Unfortunately no matter how pissed off at them I am, they do have other features that I find so useful... for example web based access, cool domains, and fuctional spell check. I will never pay them for their premium service (I don't see why anyone would... they're not bad for free, but I wouldn't pay for it) but I will forever hold a grudge that I can't save my damn signatures!

...and on a positive note )
