2007.08.26 2308.00 - What's in a name?
fruity oaty bar

I really should have paid more attention to the names of people who went to the church I did growing up. Picking out Serbian names for Veta's background would be easier if I knew people who had been given these names, instead of simply having to go by the look of the name in the latin alphabet and basing pronounciation upon what a baby namer website says. I suppose if I dug a little, I could find my old summer camp manual and actually write the names out in the cyrillic alphabet just to see what they look like. I'm not sure if it's worth that much effort, most of the names I'm picking are for minor players, ghouls, kine and kindred who either disappear from Veta's life quickly or are killed in the great hunter attack that resulted in the final death of her sire, and her second animal trait.

I am so looking forward to having money again soon, I need a bookshelf so that all my various reference materials are within quick and easy reach again.

The problem with having so many writing notebooks is that when I remember writing something, but don't remember which notebook it's in, I have to start digging around and poking through each notebook I have to find it. The other week, it was some background work for Diziara, this week, it's for Veta. Luckily both bits I was looking for were not buried in boxes in the "art room" still, so I was able to dig them up with a minimum of pain. Woo.

...and once again it stays consistant. If this isn't a sign that I should get off my ass and get my bangs all bleached white. I donno what is.

yet another quiz says I'm Rogue )

...anyhow, I have a bit of a head ache right now. It's annoying, but it's better than the nasty ache I had in my gut yesterday afternoon. I think it was 'cause I had eatten hardly anything yesterday... then I'd visited a little shop full of incense. The mix seemed to have not liked me... but there were so many nifty things in that place! I ended up leaving with a cute little lizzard dude to hang on my ear. I wanted to buy a pretty shiney sharp thing... but figured I'd be better off running that one past my dad before doing so. No need to have him find out I have something sharp and dangerous and have him freak on me about it.

...And those of you who might be thinking "what about your d'k tahg?" I still plan to buy one of those, don't worry. That one's my baby, I am not gonna forget it. However, the pretty I saw at the shop yesterday is v. pretty also. She's all curved and she looks like she's double edged, but she's actually single edged.

I can't wait 'til Matrix on friday! *bouncey* Bob ([info]goddice) says he actually will be splitting a little earlier than planned originally... he's gonna be able to skip out of work earlier than his usual 7 since his boss (or coworker, don't remember which) needed to split earlier last friday, so he said he's cover for them then, if they'd cover for him to leave early this coming friday. So that means I'm gonna be headed out to the theater earlier than orignally planned. Assuming it's not busy enough to justify my staying 'til 6, I'll probably split work at 5:30 when Steve shows up.

D&D issues )

..Speaking of the Star Wars game... while I still have little to no interest in Star Wars, I didn't suffer boredom too much while sitting through the game saturday night. There were more movie/comic refferences that I actually knew, which was nice... the two Champions games I'd been involved in, there were making refferences to all sorts of movies and stuff that I hadn't seen... most of which I probably would have seen by now had I gotten my driver's license before my former boy toy had broken up with me and been subjected to the required viewing list of movies he had been constructing for me. *shrugs* Oh well... I've never been much of a Movie person. However, there were frequent references to Fifth element last night... which was fun, since that's one of favorite movies. There were also a couple of Red neck tree references made by Bob... apparently he and I were the only ones to understand them.

Shit, I think this is one of the longest entries I've written. I've tried to lj-cut enough that it won't take up too much space... but I donno. Please yell if I really didn't cut enough.
